Tools of Hope
& Blanket Fund Contributions
The Church World Service TOOLS OF HOPE & BLANKET Program creates a rainbow of caring, providing help and hope each time the right tool is placed in the hands of people in need. Disasters and emergencies of all kinds demand many resources to assist in recovery. Gifts to the TOOLS OF HOPE & BLANKET Program help provide needed resources to give families and individuals a little comfort as they are displaced from their homes. Sturdy, warm blankets, tents, ground sheets, plastic tarps offer a shelter in the time of 'storm' whether natural or man-made. And, once the emergency needs are met, the right tool is needed to help people on the road to recovery.
TOOLS OF HOPE can also be ordinary things and thing that we often take for granted like...fishing nets...clean water...education...small-enterprise loans...garden tools...seeds and things which can make a world of difference for people devastated by tragedy, as well as those working to build a better life for themselves and their communities.
CWS has everything your congregation or organization needs to sponsor a TOOLS OF HOPE & BLANKET Day. To get you started, we have a Resource Kit including a video, skits, worship resources, and activities for young and old. Additional posters, offering envelopes and display blankets and fishing nets are available by calling your regional office at 1-888-297-2767.

It's the basics that are so important when our world is turned upside down. When our homes are ripped away from us, when the comforts of home are lost, a toothbrush, washcloth, crayons, paper, or a diaper for a crying infant are the necessities most longed for. Putting together 'Gift of the Heart' Health Kits, School Kits, and Baby Kits are a great 'hands-on' project for your family, your congregation, or organization.
For complete details on assembling these recovery kits, check out the 'Gift of the Heart' Kit [link to http://www.churchworldservice.org/heart.html] page of the Church World Service web site.
