ACT Capacity Building Database

Around the world - particularly in vulnerable nations and regions in which resources are limited, Action by Churches Together (ACT) is strengthening the capacity of churches and other agencies to prepare for and respond to human suffering caused by weather related disasters, violent civil conflict, and complex emergency situations that demand an ever-growing broad spectrum of humanitarian assistance. Through Church World Service (CWS) as its lead agency, ACT is seeking to develop strong, capable leadership at the community level to facilitate rapid recovery in the wake of disasters.

This training calendar and database tracks the efforts of the ACT network in conducting complementary programs which build capacities in assessment, monitoring, early warning and preparedness, identifying and working with the most vulnerable disaster survivors, communications, systems of cooperation and collaboration among response groups, leadership in implementation or preparedness and implementing response programs.

The ACT Network Training Database provides:

  • A listing and description of all upcoming and past training events
  • Comprehensive reports on past training programs
  • Contact information on participants in training programs
